Amstel Gold Race Ladies Edition 2026: The Route
The Amstel Gold Race Ladies Edition is built around a circuit featuring the Geulhemmerberg, Bemelerberg and Cauberg, but first the riders face a hilly approach through the Limburg region in the south of the Netherlands. They head out of the start city of Maastricht on a easterly loop, tackling the Maasberg, Bergseweg, Korenweg, Nijswillerweg, Kruisberg, Eyserbosweg, Fromberg and Keutenberg on the way towards the circuit that forms the heart of the race.
Shortly after the first ascent of the Cauberg comes the first passage of the finish line. Three laps of just under 18 kilometres follow, each featuring the Geulhemmerberg (900 metres at 6.3%), Bemelerberg (900 metres at 4.8%) and Cauberg (900 metres at 7%). The final lap differs slightly from the previous ones but still includes those three climbs. The first three laps take the riders along the main road from the Bemelerberg to the Cauberg, whereas the final lap uses a narrow and twisty back road. As a result, the final lap is slightly longer: 19.9 kilometres to be precise.
Last year, a large leading group containing all the favourites reached the final lap together. On the Geulhemmerberg, Puck Pieterse, Juliette Labous (now Berthet), Silvia Persico, Mischa Bredewold and Ellen van Dijk jumped clear. The first two pushed on together and opened a gap. Persico quickly bridged back after the summit, while the others rejoined just before the Bemelerberg.
On the twisting road towards the final ascent of the Cauberg, Van Dijk went clear and Bredewold jumped across to her. On the climb, Bredewold dropped Van Dijk and soloed to victory.
